This past Sunday was the first Sunday for 2011. It was an absolutely wonderful day to be in worship service!! The church had 4 people baptized and join the church - a blessing to see God's people coming forward. Welcome Daniels Family! A great way to start a New Year!
On Sunday, we talked about how we can begin this New Year and follow the example of Christ in our new beginnings. We looked at the gospel of Matthew and uncovered how we should be outwardly committed to serving the Lord. Commitment is not something we just talk about - it is something to put into practice. We are to be committed to serving the Lord and putting Him first in all things.We are all committed to something - whether it is our jobs, our families, or the Lord...Commitment is more than a resolution - it is a decision that we are putting into practice.
We also talked about prayer and how important that prayer was as we consider doing God's work and following Him in 2011. If we are committed to serving, we must begin with prayer. We shouldn't take even a step until we know if it is where we are being led by the Lord. Is your walk covered in prayer? If not, now is a great time to stop, pray, listen, and follow God's leading.
Imagine if the church was committed to serving and prayerful about all actions...We might make a big difference for the Lord in 2011. What are you going to do in 2011?
